Today at 2.20 local time Florida USA , my dear friend John Morris passed away peacefully at his Condo in Metro West. John had been suffering with pancreatic cancer for almost two years and fought this terrible illness right to the very end .

He will be missed by many and it was a honor and a privilege to have been part of Johns Life .He touched the heart and soul of so many people out there changing their lives forever and made this world a better place.

John , Rest easy and see you on the other side .

John
I was saddened to hear of John's passing. He has fought an amazing fight with dignity. He leaves behind a legacy, Singlive, and the wider family of friends created through song both sides of the pond. I will never forget being the 'fairy' ontop of the Xmas Tree in the baptist church Tampa in 2010. John was laughing and waving at me. Just another extraordinary venue organised by John. I'd like to mention how wonderful India has been through all this. She's a star. Thank you for the music John from Win in the UK.

Best Mate
so sad to hear of the passing of John, the man who got me as a drummer into Musical Theatre and then the drummer for all of his musical ventures in the UK, so glad I got to spend 3 great days with him at his home in Orlando back in February and then also share a great curry with India and himself before their flight back to the USA a few weeks back.. RIP buddy xxx

John
Because of John and Singlive, Ive been to and sang in some wonderful places in the world and met some amazing people. I was one of the first people to join Singlive, I will never forget our first concert in Leeds and equally I will never forget your first concert in Florida when I came over to see you perform. Later I came to sing with you and that too was amazing. John "shone" when he was on stage, no matter where it was, and his enthusiasm was so infectious . His vision to bring the joy of singing to ordinary people is something that many many of us will always be grateful for, I know I am. He touched so many lives and Im so grateful that he touched mine. I will miss him. Rest peacefully John, you worked hard in this life. Love Caroline xx

Thank you, John
Raise a glass to the memory of John Morris. The Pied Piper of Yorkshire who was recommended to me by NODA to wrangle a chorus for the very first The Night of 1000 Voices in 1998. We found 100 singers from each of the 10 NODA groups around the UK and there were our 1000 singers. John organised the sending out of the music and the rehearsals and was the tower of support he always was. On and off-stage. A few years later he returned the compliment and asked me to direct a production of Evita with with a cast of 200 at the Grand Theatre, Leeds. This went on to be a production which Tim Rice proclaimed on Radio 3 to be one of the best ever. Whether in the UK or the US John was a great champion of all singers - he shared the Challenge Anneka motto, making the impossible, possible. Thank you, John. One of the good guys. 'There's one more angel in heaven, There's one more star in the sky.'

It All Started With John and Sing Live
When I first saw an ad for Sing Live, I attended to see what it was all about. Although I was not part of the group, I started private voice lessons and eventually stood on a stage, sang a solo and got a standing ovation. And this year, I got a featured part in a theatre production of My Fair Lady - yes singing . . . and it all started with the John's communicating about how great it is to fulfill our need to sing. Condolences to his family and to all those who have lost a very close friend. He made a difference!

John Morris ~ Thank You ~ Forever in My Heart
John Morris touched so many lives and brought so much joy to the world. He proved what a difference one man can make. He truly was a dream maker. Since I joined Sing Live USA in 2008 , John brought me so many happy memories with the joy of music, the fantastic performances, and the wonderful Sing Live family I've found. Once I sat in the audience at the Bob Carr Theater thinking how wonderful it must be to be ON that stage performing. John Morris got me on that stage and brought me one of the most special times of my life. And every show after that first one was filled with excitement and joy. Thank you John, I will never forget you... one of those very special people that came into our lives and touched each of us. Your legacy will live on. Your dream and your strength to never give up, and to grab each moment will always inspire me and many others, Thank you India, for bringing John so much joy and comfort. God bless.

John Morris - Thank You for the Music - Such an Inspiration
I was so sad to learn that John has lost his long fight. He was such an inspiration to so many people and brought joy into their lives through his dream, which will live on for many years to come. Being a part of the Sing Live family certainly changed my life when I joined Sing Live North West for the very first concert twelve years ago. Sing Live has brought a lot of pleasure both to myself and my late husband, Paul. John, your legacy lives on. You were a very special person - thank you.

John Morris
My first rehearsal at First Baptist of Orlando, John walked into the choir room and it was like royalty had entered the room the way people responded to his presence. He was bigger than life! He touched a lot of people and because of SingLive my life changed so much for the better. God bless John Morris.

It was with the greatest possible regret that I learned that John had passed away. John was not only my cousin (we were i year apart in age), but one of my best friends. We shared much together for 57 years including a shared love of music and became even closer in later years. I will be attending a service tomorrow in memory of John tomorrow and I know that I share with all of John's family in expressing our thanks for the many kind messages which we have received. John; my cousin and my friend may you rest in peace.

So sad to hear about John's passing. As a member of Sing Live Merseyside I have wonderful memories about our debut and so many concerts after that. John made it all possible, showed us we could all achieve our dreams. 'Starlight Express' was the first of our songs and it says it all! My deepest sypathy to his family. God Bless & Rest in Peace John.

Legend
Gave me a lead role in the first ever concert at the town hall in leeds so to be part of john and Linda's dream from the start is something I will never forget we chatted on Facebook when I sadly lost my son to swine flu he was a good listener and that is what made him a brilliant musical director he was a businessman who saw an opportunity to give the ordinary man and woman a chance to sing and express themselves and become stars in some amazing venues together John and Linda were visionaries in a world that can be blinkered I know his work will continue to grow and inspire so many I am truly honoured to have called John Morris a friend I pray for his family to keep strong and good luck with the foundation rest in peace my friend bring him home lord for your heavenly choir has a new directer xx
